Friends,
Great news! I was one of a handful of artists selected to design a new image
for a Georgia preservation license plate. If you have a moment and would like
to vote for one of the designs, please go to http://www.gashpo.org/.
You will need to enter your zip code and county of residence in order to view
the designs and vote.The site will be available for voting February
18–March
12. Proceeds from the sale of the preservation license plate that is selected
will benefit
the Georgia Heritage Grants program.
If you want to vote for one of mine they are the two
circular designs (see above). One design features a Grist Mill which has been an iconic symbol of
preservation for many years. Grist Mills were once the center of many villages.
They were a source of employment and food as the giant stones were used to
grind grain into flour. My other design features a Lighthouse on the beach
in blue and gold. Lighthouses have been around for hundreds of years and several
along the coast of Georgia have been preserved for future generations.
